Your ‘Safe-Cation’

Covid-19 has made us all endure change in one way or another. Throughout these unpredictable times, we have all had to make sacrifices, whether that is by now working from home or cancelling plans you were once excited for.

With many trips abroad now facing new government regulations involving quarantine procedures, the idea of exploring the UK and all it has to offer is now becoming a popular choice. With no need to isolate after your trip, a UK campervan holiday, ticks many of the ‘safe-cation’ boxes when it comes to social distancing, self-isolating and being self-sufficient. With numerous campsites across England, Scotland & Wales, there are many new places for you to visit and explore.

However, here at Samco Campers, we realise that many of you will still feel anxious prior to booking a campervan holiday in the UK. We have therefore highlighted our Covid-19 ‘safe-cation’ policies and procedures, to help put your mind at ease.

What is your cancellation policy?

Valid for all existing bookings and new bookings made in 2021: A full, no quibble, 100% refund on your booking or postponement without penalty if the UK government imposes restrictions that cause the following:

  • Closure of the Samco Campers depot on the date when your collection is scheduled.
  • The introduction of non-essential travel restrictions over the dates you are due to travel.

If you or a member of your household develop Covid-19 symptoms, we have the following policy in place:

  • Free booking amendments (subject to any increase in new booking value and availability) in the event you wish to postpone, bring forward or change the date of your trip.
  • A voucher to the value of your rental in the event you wish to postpone your trip but do not know new travel dates. The voucher is valid for travel for 12 months from the initial dates you booked to travel.

What steps are being taken to sanitise the campervans?

Before each campervan heads out on hire, we have a strict disinfectant and decontamination process to ensure all our vehicles are clean and safe prior to leaving our depot. Despite always taking pride in the cleanliness of all our campervans, these extra measures make sure that no surface is left unsanitized!

We have implemented a three-stage cleaning process to minimise the risk of contamination in our vehicles.

Vehicle sanitisation: Once a campervan has returned to the Samco Campers depot, we leave a disinfectant mist spray to diffuse inside each vehicle. This process is carried out with the vehicle doors closed and the air-conditioning set to recirculate. This then allows the vapours to reach all areas of the vehicle, ensuring that no viruses are transmitted between hirers.

Deep clean: Once each vehicle has been fully sanitised, we then move onto our deep clean. This process involves valeting the entire campervan, manually applying a cleaning disinfectant spray to the inside of the vehicle. Here we pay special attention to all the frequently touched areas including the handles, surfaces, switches, and vehicle controls, to further minimise the risk of any contamination.

Extras disinfected: Applying the same process used inside each campervan, all the additional add-ons such as the bike rack, tables and chairs set and Porta-Potti toilet are then disinfected and sanitisated before being added to the vehicle. Once this process has been carried out, the vehicle receives a ‘Samco Clean & Safe’ sign, showing it is ready to go!

All these measures have been carried out to ensure the safety of everyone using our campervans. Face masks are used during both handovers and collections, and our staff sanitise their hands before and after each customer.
